I'll read you in my dreams...

Has this ever happened to anyone but me? I was laying in bed reading The Singer's Gun and must have dozed off, but I don't think my brain was ready to give up the book.  I dreamed dialogue, plotline and could even see the characters doing their thing -- all within a very short span of time, and it all made sense in the context of the novel.  Next thing I know, I'm awake -- so I started reading again and of course, it wasn't the same as I had dreamed it.  I think if this happens again, I'm going to try to write it all down.

  1. Oh, my gosh! I'm reading "Under the Dome" by Stephen King right now AND not last night, but the night before, I woke up in the morning from a dream 'based' on that book. I don't remember all of the details of the dream any longer (they usually fly away within 5 minutes, which reminds me that I should keep a 'dream journal' at my bedside to jot them down as soon as I wake up), but .. yeah ... it was kind of freaky, actually! I'm HAPPY to see that I'm not the only one this happens to! LOL!

  2. It was definitely weird for me -- and the book was unfolding in front of my eyes, like it was being acted out.

  3. This may explain some of the answers I get from students on exams! They are giving me dreamed content, not actual content!

  4. Better that than plagiarized papers, which mine used to try to sneak by me!!

  5. As a matter of fact, yes this happens to me quite a lot, aspecially when falling asleep while reading. I rather like it, and sometimes better than the real plot in the book :)))

I am new to your blog and like it a lot, I am not much for YA or romance etc...

  6. Hi Madeleine and thanks for reading! I'm rather eclectic in my reading tastes.

I've liked the plots in my head much better sometimes too!

I don't care what you say about what I write, but do be nice. Thanks!
